To make pupusas, you need:
Masa mixta (corn flour for tamales), Water, Cooking oil and a fulling.
1. Put two cups of masa and a cup and a half of water in a large bowl. Mix until smooth and soft, but not so sticky that you can't work it.
2. Take about one-sixth of the mix, roll it into a ball, then flatten it, then form a cup.
3. Fill the cup with filling (see below). Close the cup to form a ball again.
4. Flatten the ball to about half an inch. (If the pupusa cracks too much, it is too dry.)
5. Fry the pupusa in fairly hot oil until golden, then soak the oil off on paper towels.
Taco-style meat and cheese.
Chorizo (a spicy Mexican or Spanish style sausage).
Sauted mushrooms and garlic.
Chicken or beef cooked in El Pato brand tomato sauce.
Peanut butter and chocolate sauce, topped with raspberries and whipped cream. (Honest, it wasn't that bad.)
