Summer Program
I. UW Summer Institute Students who did not attend the UW Summer Institute will have the opportunity to do so this year to learn about preparing for college, experience college life, and engage in career and college planning activities. II. Summer School On an as-needed basis, GEAR UP students will have the opportunity to take part in Monroe School District's summer school, at no cost to the student. Summer school runs from Monday, June 30 to Friday, August 8. Classes begin at 8AM and run until 12:05PM. At 12:05 there is free lunch available and there is a required study period on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:35PM - 2:00PM THIS WILL TAKE THE PLACE OF THE 80 HOUR SUMMER EXPERIENCE. III. 80-Hour Experience Please see above.
IV. Summer Review Program ( REQUIRED)
Due to transportation and scheduling issues we have unfortunately cancelled the Required Review Program. The information that would have been covered in this program will be covered at the beginning of the year orientation and barbeque and the school supplies will be distributed the first week of school in the GEAR UP office.
