Scholars Project 8th Grade Benchmarks

Students must complete all of the mandatory benchmarks.

Attend Gear Up 8th grade orientation*	Complete the ActŠExplore test*
GPA must stay above 2.0 on a 4.0 scale*	Attend the 21st Century Scholars Certificate event*
Complete a high school course plan*	Promote to ninth grade*

Students must also complete five or more of the non-mandatory benchmarks.

Participate in study skills activities study clubs or tutoring	Have three of fewer unexcused absences for school
Stay alcohol-free, drug-free, crime-free, and tobacco-free	Attend GEAR UP summer program for 40 hours
Attend college information meetings parent meeting	Enroll in pre-algebra or higher
Read at grade level	Visit a college campus field trips
Research three or more careers in after school program or Computer Applications class	Participate in GEAR UP activities each week after school program MNM M,W 2:30-5:00/PPM T,TH 2:30-5:00
