Undergraduate Program

Scholars Project 10th Grade Benchmarks

         Mandatory:                                     

 And, complete five or more of these:
  Attend GEAR UP 10th grade orientation.  Have five or fewer unexcused absences.

 Keep cumulative GPA above 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or meet IEP goals.

 Attend GEAR UP summer program and /or activities for 80 hours.
 Read at grade level or higher or meet IEP goals.  "Adopt" a college.

 Enroll and pass math class above
Algebra 1( or a grade leve math class when appropriate or meet IEP goals).

  Enroll and pass foreign language class.
 Take the ACTŠ Plan Test and the PSAT.  Contact three or more colleges and get college materials from at least three.
 Attend three or more pre-WASL activities held by GEAR UP or your high school.  Research three or more careers and write a one-page summary for each.
 Update high school plan and portfolio.  Attend a University of Washington Summer Program.
 Attend college information sessions on college admissions and financial aid.  Participate in GEAR UP activities each week.
 Visit a college campus.  Participate in study skills activities.
 Promote to eleventh grade or be on track to graduate on time..  Stay alcohol-free, drug-free,crime-free, and tobacco-free.
